Jen gave me the new System of A Down CD yesterday. I dig it...you can definitely tell that a lot of the songs are leftover from the "Toxicity" sessions. And yes, I'm a dork who likes System Of A Down.
She also gave me the David Cross CD "Shut Up You Fucking Baby." Actually, it's a 2 CD set of his standup comedy. I haven't listened to it yet, but I know how hilarious it'll be. Mr. Show was brilliant, and I saw him this past Summer do stand up. He's funny as fuck.
My insurance indeed be reimbursing me for my totalled car. They'll cut me a check for roughly $3000. Plus they informed me that they'd reimburse me the $300 I spent getting my totalled car out of the Tow Yard.
I don't know why I just capitalized the words "tow" and "yard" in that last sentence.
I also greased the wheels with my attorney friend Kurt (it's amazing what a pair of tickets to see The Pretenders will get you these days), so he's persuaded his attorney friend to let me hire him for a mere $200 down, with 2 monthly payments of whatever I can afford. As opposed to the $1000 he initally wanted down, and $500 a month. So, hopefully I'll be able to rest a little easier knowing my attorney will be working on my case.
I never wanted the words "my attorney" to come out of my mouth. But there they are.
I'm an idiot.
As previsouly mentioned, I'm seeing Beck and the Flaming Lips on Friday. The last time I saw Beck was at Coachella (he did a couple of songs), and before that was right after "Odelay" came out. The last time I saw the Lips was in 1999. And I was so fried on Ecstasy that night that I only remember part of the show. But I was in heaven while I watched them play.
I saw The Slackers last night. I haven't listened to a ska record in years, but it was kind of cool to see these guys. Old school ska is still pretty ok in my book.
Mike Welsh called me and now I've completely lost my train of thought.
