ache.
Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002 - 10:29 pm Now Playing: Rocket From The Crypt "On A Rope," which just ended. And now "Young Livers." I'm sick. Woke up with a sore throat. Felt so shitty that I actually tried to call my boss to call in sick today. And I NEVER call in sick. So, instead of being given permission to stay home and rest, I was told to come in 3 hours early by our Director of Venue Operations. Our new Supervisor in training isn't doing very well (not that she's been completely and totally trained), and Ron needed me to come in and help out. So, weakened by the flu, and armed with NyQuil and DayQuil and sore throat spray, I reluctantly headed into work facing a 13+ hour day. Luckily Michael came in and let me go home a little after 10, so I only had to work 8+ hours instead of 13. My throat hurts really bad. When I DJed on KUNV from 97-98, I taped a bunch of my shows. Now that I'm temporarily driving a car with a tape deck, I decided to bust some of those tapes out. Man, I sound so funny. So young. And it was only 4 years ago. But it's interesting to see how my musical tastes have changed since then. Nothing major, I was still playing Built To Spill, Dead Milkmen, Treepeople, Modest Mouse, and stuff like that. But I played a lot of ska and techno back then...and I really don't listen to either of those types of music much anymore, except possibly for a Bosstones record or a Aphex Twin record every now and then. I've been listening to a lot of Rocket From The Crypt lately. Not an unhealthy amount or anything. There was something else I wanted to put in here, but I'm so loopy from NyQuil, DayQuil, Soma, and weed that I'm starting to doze off. Bed time... "It's all fine. While you're cryin. You want some cheese with your whine?"
