anniversary.
Thursday, Jan. 02, 2003 - 10:47 am Now Playing: Alkailine Trio "My Friend Peter" "Maybe my friend Peter can tell me what to do." So, yesterday was my one year anniversary with Diaryland. My very first entry was Jan 1, 2002. Weird...I can't believe I've kept this thing going for a whole year. New Years was completely uneventful this year. I worked 15 1/2 hours...from 11:30am NYE to 3:00am NYD. Ugh. It was rough, but it's all over now. We had one of the worst rock bands in the world playing on New Year's Eve...Sugar Ray. Yuck. Luckily I didn't have to see any of it. I did see my buddy Steve from Smashmouth though...I haven't seen him for a while, and it was good to chat with him again. He made fun of my hair, and agreed that I look like a trucker. He said he wants my spikey hair back next time I see him. I'll see what I can do. He and I have this little bond because we both own record labels...of course his is funded, and distributed by a major, while mine is funded and distributed by me. Anyways, he gave me his new cell number and asked me to call him on Sunday, so I will. He's going to help me out with some of the basic contracts he uses for his bands and stuff. He siad that they're working on a new records, and Butch Vig might produce it. So, it might actually be a good record. Their first one was good. Jon sent me a buttload of CDs a few weeks back, and I'm slowly listening to all of them. I'm in love with Jeff Buckly "Grace," and the Pinback and Of Montreal albums as well. As for the hip hop stuff he sent, I've only listened to Sage Francis, Cannibal Ox, Deep Puddle Dynamics, and Dr. Octagon. I'm trying to absorb them all instead of just listening once and moving on. Unfortunately, I've been so busy while listening to the CDs that I haven't completely absorbed them yet. But I'm working on it. I'm heading out to Disneyland this weekend with Sara and Juawana, and the lovely Megan will be meeting me there. And hopefully Dre and Andy too. Megan dna I will attend Disney California Adventure, while Juawana and Sara go to Disneyland. Then, that night, Megan and I will be checking out Social D at the HOB Anaheim. It'll be so lovely to see my precious Megan again. It feels like I haven't seen her for an eternity. I can't wait to hold her again, and kiss her lovely lips. MMMMM....Megan. Hopefully Dre and Andy will be able to come too. I'd love to see them, and I'd love for them to meet Megan. I got the Piebald and Liars CDs the other day. Liars is great...I've heard it before. I kind of like the Piebald CD, but I have a weird feeling that I shouldn't. The songs are kind of silly and poppy. And they have a list of bands in the linar notes. "Musical Fung Shui" is what they call it. They list Hot Rod Circuit, Thursday, and Cave-In...which are all kind of cool. But then they list New Found Glory and Saves The Day...two bands that rank right up there on my list of bands that need to fall off the face of the Earth. I don't know...I guess I'm being a music snob again. And I watched the full trailer for Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines today. Oh boy...am I excited for that. I saw T2 on July 3, 1991...my 16th birthday, and the day the movie opened nationally. Now, July 2nd 2003, almost exactly 12 years later, I get to see part 3. Yeah, Arnold sucks, but I love the Terminator movies. "Hey, you're part of it."
