Now Playing: Yep, you guessed it...Rocket From The Crypt "Dead Seeds"

"Blow up, dead on the vine. I hope your leaves never fall off. Blow up, lamps for the blind. Revenge, deceit. Dead seeds will always grow."

Rocket From The Crypt report:

The Good:

I got to see Rocket for the first time in a few years.

There were maybe only 100 people there.

They played lots of songs from the new record, which is really good.

I bought a really cool RFTC shirt, and a cool pewter RFTC ring. It's their rocket logo, and it fits perfectly on the middle finger of my left hand. Ask me to flip you off next time I see you...it looks cool.

They opened their set with the first 2 songs from "Live From Camp X-Ray."

They followed those songs with the first 2 songs from "Group Sounds," and the first 2 songs from "Scream, Dracula, Scream."

Speedo always has the coolest smirk on his face while he's singing.

The opening band, The Spits were a lot of fun. Very Ramones-y. They all wore goofy head dresses, and the chunky keyboard player wore a Statue Of Liberty Mask and a white shirt stained with (presumably) fake blood. From my vantage point, he looked more like Leatherface than the Statue of Liberty.

The Bad:

The band barely played an hour. They were supposed to play for 1 1/2 hours, but I assume they cut it short because it was so empty in the place.

They only played 1 or 2 random older songs from 7"s and whatnot.

They didn't play a single tune from "Paint As A Fragance" or "Circa: Now," which are their best records.

They played like 4 songs from their crappy "RFTC" record...the last one on Interscope, and their obvious attempt at writing more "radio-friendly" songs. Ugh...I hate that record.

There was only like 100 people there, and there should have been 1000.

All in all, it was a great night. I just wish I could have heard more older songs, and I wish they would have played longer.

I love my Rocket From The Crypt ring.

When I was chatting with the lovely Megan before the show yesterday, I told her I wanted to have little Rocket babies.

I wish it was possible to mate with an entire band.

Eww...that sounds kind of creepy.

I'm weird.

FUCK - OFF
