My buddy at Interscope sent me the new Alkaline Trio record yesterday. Jesus Crispies this has been the week of amazing new music. I like the Alkaline Trio record, although it's apparent they're trying to cash in on some of that New Found Glory/Good Charlotte pop-punk money. Not that it's a bad record, but the guy who produced Blink-182 produced this one, so it has a poppier edge. I still like it though.
So, Michael and I will be attending a private party tonight at the Mandalay Beach. Smashmouth is playing (shut up, Amey), and Eric (their tour manager) was kind enough to put me on the guestlist so we can come hang out. It should be fun, even though I'm not a very big fan of the band. It'll still be good to see Steve and the guys.
Lately, I feel like I'm letting everyone down. I feel like I've not been myself lately. I feel like I'm doing something wrong.
I feel like maybe what Gigi told Amey is true, that I'm too wrapped up in myself. I never thought of myself as stuck-up or self-centered, but maybe I am.
Maybe I'm an ass, and I'm now just starting to realize it.
I hope not.

I got punked by some skinheads last night because of the shirt I was wearing. It's an Against Me! shirt that has a picture of George W. Bush on it and it reads "Hey George W. Fuck You and Your Daddy Too." As far as I could tell, these skins that were punking me were SHARPs, so I have no clue as to why they'd have a problem with a shirt dissing the biggest racist asshole we've ever had in the oval office. Weird.
Double Barrel Dave's sister Sarah made a surprise appearance last night. She's in town for a while, and it was cool to see her. We hung out all night, then headed back to my place to smoke out and watch The Big Lebowski. She's a super cool chick, and I think that if she didn't have a boyfriend in England, that I'd try to date her.
But whatever...
