I have this daily calendar at work of the stupidest things ever said and done in the history of the world. Following is yesterday's edition of Dumb:
"A Frenchman tried a complex suicide in 1998. Standing on a tall cliff, he tied a noose around his neck, securing the rope to a large rock. He then drank poison and set fire to himself. As he jumped off the cliff, he fired a pistol at his head.
The bullet missed him and cut through the rope so he didn't hang himself when he plunged into the sea. The cold water not only extinguished his burning clothes, the shock of it made him vomit up the poison.
He was dragged out of the water by a fisherman and taken to a hospital, where he died of hypothermia."
Nice, huh? That's what would happen to me if I ever tried to kill myself, I'm quite sure of it.
