birthday again?
Wednesday, Jul. 09, 2003 - 7:29 pm Now Playing: Goober Patrol "Easy Life" "Turn up the music and turn down the phone now. Let's all pretend that we're not at home now. I'm just trying to live the easy life. I don't understand you being so uptight." I drunkenly stumbled into my 28th year of existence last Thursday. My best friends Dre and Andy were in town to celebrate too (Dre crept into her 29th year the same day as I fell into my 28th, but don't tell her I told you). The birthday bash was an absolute blast, although I was running around trying to coordinate every little thing, so I didn't get to actually hang out much. I lost my voice singing (screaming) along with my pride and joy, FFI. I drank way more than any human should be legally allowed to consume. My brothers in Dead Lazlo's Place came to celebrate, and perform their first Vegas show since they broke up in 1999. So many friends, family, aquaintances, faces from the past showed up. We raised lots of money for Free The West Memphis Three, and gave away a lot of cool prizes. I got a bunch of great birthday presents, and ended the evening passing out in a bed at Bally's with my amazing girlfriend. When I woke the next day, in my pockets I found 10 free drink tickets from the night before, $300 cash, a plethora of Loritab, Vicodin, Xanax, and Soma. A 3" Sonic Youth CD signed by the entire band, and 1/8 bag of magic mushrooms. Not a bad haul, I must say. Of course, one week later, I'm still recovering. I'm going on "hanging out" hiatus for a while. I need to regain my health, replenish my pocketbook, and just get things together in general. On the 4th of July, the crew (Dre, Andy, Daniel, Julie, Sarah, and I) bought $100 worth of fireworks, bought some beer and some pizza, and had a very low key celebration at my house. Much needed after the night before. It was a mellow end to a crazy weekend. Now, I need to clean my house, See T3, Pirates Of The Carribean, and 28 Days Later. After that, I'm all good. Well, except for this thing...
